Berlin, 30.01.2026 – cargomotion, provider of the digital customer interface for freight forwarders, is strengthening its management team: Johannes Trommer is joining cargomotion as Chief Product Officer (CPO). Trommer previously spent six years at sennder, a leading digital freight forwarder for full truckload (FTL) transport in Europe.
During his time at sennder, Johannes Trommer was responsible for product and software development with a particular focus on shipper applications and digital customer interfaces. Prior to that, he worked as a consultant at the strategy and technology consulting firm Accenture.
“Johannes brings exactly the experience we need for the next phase of growth at cargomotion,” says Philipp Ortwein, co-founder of cargomotion. “In recent years, he has demonstrated how to build scalable digital products in the European transport market – and understands both the requirements of shippers and the operational realities of freight forwarders,” adds Maximilian Schaefer, also co-founder of cargomotion.
At cargomotion, Johannes Trommer will be responsible for product strategy and development as CPO. The goal is to enable freight forwarders to increase their revenue and margins by automating quotation, booking, and processing procedures. cargomotion already offers powerful TMS add-ons for this purpose, which can be easily integrated into existing IT landscapes and are used by freight forwarders on a daily basis. Building on this, the SaaS solution will be specifically expanded to include AI-supported functions in order to secure a sustainable technological competitive advantage for freight forwarders in the age of artificial intelligence.
